Despite persistent rumors, Mariah Carey does NOT own any vineyards…yet. Ever since the pop star began regularly touting Mariah Vineyard Zinfandel as her favorite wine, most notably while sipping a glass on MTV’s Cribs, Internet celebrity blogs have buzzed with gossip that the diva actually bought a share in the vineyard. Mariah (the vineyard) is a small Zinfandel plot in the Mendocino Ridge appellation in Northern California; Brown-Forman has marketed the wines for several years now, and a company spokesman denied that Mariah (the diva) has any stake in the site. Obviously, the company loves that she’s a fan and is not adverse to her giving the wine a few shout-outs. However, all of this was horrible news for Unfiltered, since we had predicted Carey would buy a winery this year, and so many of our prognostications have come true lately that we’d been thinking about starting a horoscope feature.
